Christian Proske

Christian Proske was born in Duisburg/Germany and studied with Radu Aldulescu (Maastricht), Karine Georgian (Detmold) and in the USA as assistant of Bernard Greenhouse (Beaux Arts Trio). In 1994 he passed his concert examination at the Music Academy of Detmold. He complemented his studies with international master classes, such as Harvey Shapiro (New York), Alexandr Vectomov (Prague), David Geringas and at the International Menuhin Music Academy in Gstaad.

The prize winner of various competitions (such as first prize in the ‘Deutscher Hochschulwettbewerb’ in 1990) and recipient of numerous scholarships from subsidy organisations (such as the DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service), he has a passion for chamber music and has, among others, played with Pinchas Zukerman, Emanuel Ax and the Ensemble Wien-Berlin.

Christian Proske is Associate Principal Cello in the Tonhalle-Orchestra Zurich and has been teaching at the Zurich University of the Arts since 2006.
